Where East Meets Comfort: Unveiling a Stylish and Welcoming Tokyo Hostel. This project brings together Eastern aesthetics and modern comfort, offering a glimpse inside a truly unique space! A collaborative spirit sparked this project when our design team was contacted by an architectural firm in Japan. Together, we embarked on a mission to create a fully furnished haven for travellers in the heart of Tokyo. Working seamlessly across continents, we devised a plan to optimise every corner of the hostel. Our designers meticulously curated furniture placement, while simultaneously crafting bespoke pieces. Skilled artisans then brought these designs to life, before they embarked on a voyage by sea to Tokyo. The architectural team meticulously arranged the furniture upon arrival, and these stunning photographs capture the beautiful final product. A Story Etched in Design Nestled in Kuramae, a district often referred to as "Tokyo's Brooklyn," the hostel embodies the neighbourhood's historic charm. This hidden gem, bordering Asakusa, boasts a thriving handicraft and coffee scene. Independent leatherworkers and artisans share the streets with trendy cafes, creating a vibrant tapestry of tradition and innovation. FOCUS KURAMAE, originally a camera parts factory, stands as a testament to this rich history. Our concept, aptly named "FOCUS," pays homage to this photographic heritage, while the design elements subtly weave this narrative throughout the hostel. Collaborating remotely with this talented architectural team proved to be an enriching and rewarding experience. We are immensely proud of the final result, and we wish this welcoming space a long and prosperous future.
